Our Training Courses 

Over the past few years, we have noticed that Dance is a subject that many teachers unfortunately aren’t confident with. We are here to change this! We want to help you to gain confidence to deliver, fun, engaging, curriculum specific, inclusive sessions for all your children! 

We offer multiple teacher discounts for this course and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Prices start at £55.00 per person for the 2.5 hour course. (optional 30 minute Q&A time at the end) 
Course material will also be included in this price.




Times
Please arrive between 3.30pm and 4.00pm for a close to 4.00pm start as we can. Once everyone is here, we will begin the training. We plan to have a classroom-based start where we will break down a typical Primary School Dance PE session learning about skills that should be taught and how to teach them to different year groups, abilities and SEND children. From this we will then go into the practical part of the training looking at a Dance warm up, and basic choreography and how it can be adapted and differentiated for each year group. We will speak about topics and styles and how you can put this into your planning and delivery. We will also touch on music and how to create a dance to a curriculum topic. To conclude we will look at a cool down and different cool down ideas before going back to the classroom to finish the session at 6.30pm. There will then be an opportunity to stay after and ask and questions you may have or leave at this point. 

Where to find us 
The course will be run at Godmanchester Community Academy in Huntingdon. There is parking onsite or just opposite the school in a separate car park. If you have any problems with finding us on the day, please call 07708925917 and we will guide you. Please come to the main school office and we will then take you down to the room we will be using for the evening. 

What to bring 
A copy of your DBS, & ID 
Water bottle
Please dress in suitable PE clothing with trainers. 
Pen and paper to write notes. 
Anything else you may feel you might need. 

What will we cover?
This Twilight session will be busy and very interactive. We strongly encourage teachers to participate In the practical element of the session, however this isn’t vital. We aim to help and guide you and give you as much knowledge and support in your Dance delivery as possible!

Tips on how to teach an effective engaging session for all year groups
How to make your session inclusive 
Basic choreography you can learn and use again within your own dance teaching. 
Question and answer time. 

Who will my instructor be?
The course will be led by Charlotte Cooney the head coach of Talent Dance Academy. Charlotte has 13 years of Dance teaching within primary schools and had taught on the SCITT training program for Cambridge and Bury St. Edmunds. Cost and Multiple participants 
Prices start from £55.00 per person. We do offer a discount to schools who are wishing to sign up multiple teachers to this course!! Please get in touch and we can give you further details on this! We do also offer whole school training which can be delivered at your school at a time and day that suits you. We can also tailor the training to your specific needs and wants! Please get in touch! 

Other information
There are disabled facilities and accessible toilets on site. 
Teachers must be over 18 to participate. 
Ideally this course is aimed at Primary School Teachers, however if you would like to access this course and you do not work within a primary school environment, please get in touch as we can speak to you about if this is the right course for you and put you in contact with different people who may be able to help and assist you.
